WASHINGTON (Michigan News Source) – The six Michigan Republicans who serve in the U.S. House endorsed Donald Trump in his 2024 presidential run.

Michigan, long considered a battleground state, supported Trump in 2016 but flipped to President Joe Biden in 2020.

Trump’s campaign announced his “2024 Michigan federal leadership team” would feature U.S. Reps. Tim Walberg (R-Tipton), Bill Huizenga (R-Holland), John Moolenaar (R-Caledonia), Jack Bergman (R-Watersmeet), Lisa McClain (R-Bruce Township), and newly elected John James (R-Shelby Township).

“Under the Trump presidency, America was prosperous, the economy was strong, the world was a safer place, and Michiganders were better off. President Trump has proven he has the ability to deliver results on Day One and also the ability to win in key battleground states like Michigan, being the only Republican to win a Presidential race here since 1988,” Walberg, Huizenga, Moolenaar, Bergman and McClain said.

James said President Joe Biden’s policies are continuing to hurt Michigan’s middle class.  “In 2024, we need to give hope to Americans who feel like their government is failing them,” he said.

There are six months to go before the first GOP presidential primary contests in Iowa and New Hampshire in early 2023.
