GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The man accused of kidnapping and murdering 2-year-old Wynter Smith earlier this month has been indicted on federal charges.

Rashad Trice faces kidnapping resulting in death and kidnapping a minor charges.
Police say the 26-year-old stabbed and sexually assaulted Wynter’s mother before kidnapping the girl and strangling her in a Detroit alley. 0
While both charges have a statutory mandatory minimum sentence of life in prison, the kidnapping resulting in the death charge is eligible for the death penalty.
Trice will be back in court on August 7.
