LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Drivers across Michigan are being put on alert that the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign is now under way.

County Sheriff’s offices have teamed up with Michigan State Police and other local law enforcement agencies to run the campaign through September 4th. There will be increased enforcement over the next three weeks, with police looking for motorists who are under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Across Michigan, Labor Day weekend is one of the deadliest times of the year for impaired driving fatalities. The MSP Criminal Justice Information Center reported 9,331 alcohol-involved crashes with 322 fatalities in 2022. They also reported 2,452 drug-involved crashes with 249 fatalities that year.
