Eric Molitor, along with brothers William Null and Michael Null, are the last of 14 men prosecutors call “anti-government extremists.” Molitor and the Nulls were allegedly upset by Whitmer’s COVID-19 policies, which shut down schools and restricted the economy. All three have pled not guilty to providing material support for terrorist acts and illegally possessing firearms. Those charges are punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

The plotters were members of paramilitary groups and spoke of attacking the state Capitol and police to ignite civil war, the documents said. Whitmer was not physically harmed.

So far, nine men have been convicted in state or federal court; four pled guilty. Two others were acquitted at trial.

Opening arguments are scheduled for Wednesday in Antrim County, the site of the Governor’s vacation home.
