GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Gerald R. Ford International Airport is one of the top 20 best small airports in the country as ranked in USA TODAY’s Reader’s Choice Awards, and officials are hoping community votes will get it into the top ten.

Casey Ries, the Director of Engineering and Planning, says they are excited to be named a finalist after investing $112 million in expanding Concourse A and working to renovate the former terminal. The airport is also building a $156 million rental car building. Ries says they want to act like a big airport with a lot of direct destinations but still keep it small.
