DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – A judge has ruled that the Oxford High School shooter will not be eligible for parole and can spend the rest of the his life in prison when he is sentenced on December 8.

That is the ruling Friday morning from Oakland County Circuit Judge Kwame Rowe after Ethan Crumbley’s Miller hearing.

“The court finds that the prosecution has rebutted the presumption by clear and convincing evidence that a sentence to life without parole is a disproportionate sentence,” Rowe said.

Crumbley killed four students and injured seven others on November 30, 2021. Teachers had expressed concern over his behavior, and a meeting with administrators the morning of the shooting was met with pushback from Crumbley’s parents and they refused to take him out of school.

Crumbley’s parents are facing charges of their own, including four counts of involuntary manslaughter for ignoring their son’s cries for help and buying him the gun used in the shooting.
