The restaurant is in a building just north of downtown Grand Rapids and was built in 1922 and served as an office building for a local coal company before being transformed into a diner in 1946.

Mack bought the grill from his father-in-law in 1997 and says the place has a certain charm that makes him look forward to going to work every day. The diner and an adjoining tattoo parlor that Mack also owns are listed for sale for $1.5 million.
