BIG RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy plans to visit Big Rapids on Wednesday to show his support of the Mecosta Environmental and Security Alliance’s (MESA) efforts to stop the Chinese-linked Gotion battery project.

Ramaswamy will speak at the Majestic Friesians Horse Farm on Wednesday, October 4th starting at 6:30 p.m. Specifically, Ramaswamy plans to discuss the potential national security and environmental threats posed by the Gotion project.

His visit comes on the heels of MESA’s legal action against Gotion and Ford’s halt of its BlueOval project in Marshall. Megasite proposals have been popping up around the state, including in Flint and Clinton County. They appear to be pet projects of both Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, but have received substantial community pushback.
