EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A judge has ruled that the legal team representing fired Michigan State football coach Mel Tucker must refrain from further disclosure of text messages in his Title IX case.
These messages were extracted from a phone belonging to a friend of Brenda Tracy, who has accused Tucker of sexual misconduct and harassment. Tucker’s attorneys contend that the messages suggest Tracy had financial motives in her interactions with the former coach.

Tracy sought to prevent the release of more messages, a motion that the judge has granted. Tucker’s legal team indicated they possess around 20,000 additional documents, implying a potential for further releases in the future.
The judge’s order specifies that Tucker’s legal representatives are prohibited from disclosing, possessing, or using any messages, calls, texts, emails, or related data from Ahlan Alvarado’s cellphone concerning Brenda Tracy, LLC, Set the Expectation LLC, and related entities.
A hearing on this matter is slated for next week.
