DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – The body of a missing man found in the ventilation duct of the Macomb Community College campus on Sunday does not appear to be the victim of foul play.

Clinton Township resident Jason Anthony Thompson was found dead within the ventilation system of the college’s Performing Arts facility. The 36-year-old had been missing since late October.

His family reported his last known contact with them was on October 25. They officially reported him missing to the Sterling Heights Police Department one week later.

The discovery of his body was made as campus authorities investigated the cause of an unpleasant odor emanating from the ventilation system.

Macomb Community College Police Chief William Leavens told the Associated Press, “It is important to remember that this is an ongoing investigation, with the goal to understand the circumstances.”
