GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Grand Rapids Police Department is welcoming two new K-9 units to its department.
Officer Pete Thompson will now be partnering with 15-month-old K-9 Leo and Officer Kenny Nawrocki will be partnered with eleven-month-old K-9 Ace.

The K-9s are replacing K-9 Kilo who retired in September and K-9 Bosco who died in July. Another police dog, Dozer, is still recovering after he was injured on the job over the summer. The money to purchase and train the new K-9s came in part through the Grand Rapids Police Foundation.
