LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – It’s Election Day in Michigan and polls will be open in communities with local elections. Voters in those communities are deciding on local issues including bonds and millages.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Voters can find out if there’s an election in their area by visiting the Michigan Voter Information Center. In addition, voters with an absentee ballot must return their ballot to their local clerk’s office or secure ballot drop box by 8 p.m.
Eligible Michigan residents can register to vote and cast their ballot at their local clerk’s office until 8 p.m. on Election Day. To register, potential voters must bring a document to verify their residency.
Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson and her department held early voting sessions at some jurisdictions at the end of October. It served as a test run for early voting in preparation for the 2024 election cycle. Those votes will be tallied when polls close today. Michigan voters passed Proposal 2 last year which, among other things, requires at least 9 days of early voting before Election Day in federal and statewide elections.
