LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) has expanded Medicaid coverage for Michigan beneficiaries to include community health worker services.

The policy goes into effect on January 1, 2024.

The program provides trained public health professionals who will address social roadblocks of health. In addition, they will serve as links between residents and the resources needed to improve well-being. The approach also aims to prevent disease, disability, and other chronic health conditions.
