SAN FRANCISCO (Michigan News Source) – A strong start in the first quarter with Jameson Williams making a touchdown within the first two minutes of Sunday night’s NFC championship game set the tone for the first half, but did not propel the Lions to victory in the third and fourth quarters.
The San Francisco 49ers claimed the NFC championship on Sunday night 34-31.

The momentum lead to David Montgomery’s touchdown toward the end of the first quarter. A touchdown from Jahmyr Gibbs in the second quarter pushed the Lions up 20-7.
The kick at half time gave the Lions three more points as the team headed to the locker room at half time.
The second half appeared to be a tale of two teams – a more determined 49ers and the “same old” Lions.
A touchdown and kick tied up the game with three minutes in the third quarter. San Fransisco took the lead in the fourth with a kick.
Throughout the second half, wide receiver Josh Reynolds dropped several key passes. A touchdown and field goal with three minutes left appeared to seal the deal for the 49ers.
Williams managed to keep the game interesting with a touchdown with one minute left, but an NFC championship was not in the cards for Detroit.
