Coach Tom Izzo limited the viewing party on Sunday night to himself, his team, and a few MSU officials instead of having a crowd join them due to the uncertainty they had.

The last time MSU missed the tournament was in Izzo’s second season as head coach in 1997.

In addition, the MSU’s women’s basketball will be the No. 9 seed in Albany Regional 1 of the 2024 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament and will take on eighth-seeded North Carolina on Friday.

The two teams will tip off at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina, home of the No. 1 seed, the South Carolina Gamecocks.
