LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Gov. Gretchen Whitmer reached out to Michigan’s Muslim population with a message on social media regarding Ramadan.
This year, a traditionally joyous Ramadan feels different amid so much suffering in Gaza.

The Arab-American population in Michigan has been pushing back against the Democratic party for its stance on the Israel-Hamas war. It’s caused friction within the party which also boasts a large number of Jewish voters.
Recently, Hamtramck’s all Muslim city council named one of its streets “Palestine Avenue.”
