DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Ford Motor Company is recalling more than 456,000 Bronco Sport and Maverick pickup trucks because of a powertrain issue.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the control modules for the vehicles may fail to detect a battery charge causing a loss of power.

The recall covers Bronco Sports built between February of 2020 and March of this year. A total of 53,000 Maverick pickups made between February of 2021 and October 2022 are part of the recall. Owners will be notified by mail beginning May 13th of the repair process.
