LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan Democratic Attorney General Dana Nessel announced her decision to decline a request from State Representatives Neil Friske, James DeSana, Steve Carra and former Republican State Senator Patrick Colbeck for a criminal investigation into Dominion Voting Systems CEO John Poulos’ testimony before the Senate Oversight Committee in December 2020.

What was compliant about?

As Michigan News Source reported on April 22nd, a 51-page criminal complaint was filed against Poulos with the Michigan State Police, the Michigan Secretary of State and the Attorney General. In the complaint, they accuse Mr. Poulos of 15 counts of alleged perjury.

AG Nessel not investigating even though she said she would back if a complaint came up.

And although AG Nessel had said back in 2020, that if Colbeck had made any complaints of election fraud to her office, they would have been “fully investigated” at the time, she has decided that is not the case now, citing a “comprehensive review” that her office has recently done.

In a press release from her office, the review conducted by her department included looking into Poulos’ recorded testimony, the Senate Oversight Committee’s report on the November 2020 Election, individual letters from the state Representatives, former State Senator Patrick Colbeck’s letter to the Michigan State Police, and alleged evidence against Poulos.

“Based on a thorough review of all relevant material, it is clear a criminal investigation is not warranted, and I respectfully decline your request,” stated Nessel in her letter.

Nessel also addressed the evidence provided by the representatives, pointing out that the documents seemed to be a selective excerpt from over 2,000 documents publicly disclosed by criminal defendant Stefanie Lambert, in violation of a protective order.

The Attorney General further referred to the conclusions reached by the Senate Oversight Committee in its own report, dismissing claims of election fraud in Antrim County as “indefensible” and highlighting the “willful ignorance” of public figures who continue to promote such speculations.

Nessel reminded the representatives of the Senate Oversight Committee’s findings regarding similar actions to those of sending these letters to the Department of Attorney General, stating that such actions were deemed “misleading and irresponsible,” undermining the overall credibility of those making such claims.
