DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – A documentary from ABC News on the Oxford High School shooter’s parents James and Jennifer Crumbley will be released on Hulu Thursday, one week after both received 10-15 years in prison for involuntary manslaughter.

It is titled “Sins of the Parents” and the documentary details the Crumbleys’ failings as parents that led to their then-15-year-old son, Ethan, shooting and killing four students at Oxford High School in November 2021. Seven others were injured. Ethan Crumbley is serving life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The Crumbleys are the first parents of a mass shooter to be tried in the U.S. During their separate trials, prosecutors successfully argued that both parents ignored their son’s mental health problems and his cries for help. They also bought their son the gun used in the shooting.

The Oakland County chief assistant prosecutor says he hopes the documentary has a serious tone and is not simply attention-grabbing.
