DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – The city of Detroit shattered the record for attendance at the NFL Draft over the weekend.

The city brought in 775,000 fans for the event, and Mayor Mike Duggan says that number surpassed expectations.

Duggan added he had never heard so many people from the Detroit suburbs referring to “we” for the entire city. He called it a spectacular team effort and praised the work of others including Dan Gilbert and Detroit Police Chief James White.
