WASHINGTON (Michigan News Source) – The U.S. Justice Department has agreed to pay $100 million to settle claims with 100 people sexually assaulted by sports doctor Larry Nassar.

An investigation found law enforcement mishandled abuse allegations by women more than a year before Nassar’s 2016 arrest. Nassar worked as a sports doctor at Michigan State University (MSU). He sexually abused hundreds of women and girls and called it treatment. He’s now serving decades in prison.

MSU’s Board of Trustees just finished turning over 6,000 pages of redacted documents to the Michigan Attorney General’s office involving the Nassar investigation.  This came after several years of stalling on turning over those documents citing “attorney client privilege.”
