WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Michigan News Source) – Law enforcement from several jurisdictions, along with the U.S. Secret Service, gave an update on Sunday afternoon after the second assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump.

Officials said they had a suspect in custody, but did not release a name. A Secret Service agent shot at the suspect. They said the suspect had an AK47 with a scope along with a Gopro camera. They also confiscated a backpack.

They said the suspect shot from 300-500 yards away while former president golfed at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, but the scope automatically decreases the distance.

As far as security on the golf course, officials said they did not have as much because Trump “is not a sitting president” but said the had enough security that a presidential candidate requires.
