LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) — With an uninsured rate of just 4.5%—one of the lowest in the nation—it’s surprising that nearly 400,000 Michigan residents still struggle to access basic healthcare. Recognizing this need, Priority Health has partnered with Curai Health to offer a forward-thinking solution: free virtual healthcare for uninsured adults through December 31, 2024.
No hospitals, no waiting rooms—just your phone and a connection to the internet. It’s an innovation that promises to break down some of the most persistent barriers facing the uninsured: cost, access, and convenience.

By offering free virtual medical consultations, Priority Health hopes to address treatable conditions early, preventing them from worsening and leading to more serious health issues or costly interventions down the line.
The program is accessible to any uninsured Michigan resident aged 18 or older. Eligible individuals can obtain a free access code through Priority Health’s website, which they can use on Curai Health’s platform, available either online or via a mobile app.
Once enrolled, users begin their virtual visit by interacting with an AI health assistant. This AI helps gather initial health information, which is then reviewed by a licensed physician. Consultations are conducted entirely through text, with board-certified doctors providing diagnoses and care plans based on the information shared by the patient. While consultations are free, any prescribed medications, lab tests, or specialist referrals are not covered under the program, which could result in out-of-pocket expenses for those requiring further care.
Not only does Curai Health offer 24/7 access to its platform, but patients can also use the service multiple times throughout the program’s duration, allowing for follow-up consultations as needed.
