KALAMAZOO, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Western Michigan graduate student Jen Blitchok, from Grandville, Mich., received two Mid-American Conference awards this week for her academics and soccer play. The MAC awarded her the Offensive Player of the Week and the Scholar-Athlete of the Week.

This is her second time earning the Scholar-Athlete award this year, which is the maximum for one player. She has a 4.0 grade point average in the Masters of Business Administration program.

For the third time in 2024, Blitchok earned the MAC Offensive Player of the Week, which is the most this season for one player. She collected seven points with three goals and one assist in wins over Toledo and Ball State. Against Toledo, she had an assist in the 2-0 win and then provided a hat trick in a 5-4 victory over Ball State. Her impact in the game vs. Ball State led to three straight goals and a 4-2 lead as WMU won the MAC Regular Season Championship, staying perfect in the conference at 7-0-3.

Her MAC accolades also landed her as the Top Drawer Soccer National Player of the Week. Her seven points led the MAC for the week, and she broke the WMU record for goals in a season with 15. She leads the MAC in almost every category and has 37 points, 15 goals, and seven assists.

WMU has their final MAC regular season match on Thursday as they host Northern Illinois at 3:00 p.m.
