During the middle of the season, West was honored as part of the Joe Moore Midseason Honor Roll, leading the WMU offensive line as one of the 22 best groups in the nation. At that point in the season, WMU had four 100-yard rushing performances and averaged 253.7 yards on the ground. He is WMU’s second lineman, selected as a semifinalist following Chukwuma Okorafor in 2017. West is a two-time All-Academic MAC member and on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.

The finalists will be announced on Tuesday, November 26, and the winner will be selected on The Home Depot College Football Awards show on December 12.
