WARREN, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – President Donald Trump celebrated his first 100 days in office in the place that handed him 15 electoral votes last November.
“A revolution of common sense.”
Supporters gathered at Macomb Community College in Warren for a rally with President Trump on Tuesday night. His 90-minute speech highlighted his campaign-promises-turned-reality, including border security and an economic reboot.

Trump referred to the policies in the past 100 days as “a revolution of common sense.” He said, “We’re ending illegal immigration, we’re taking back our jobs, we’re restoring the rule of law.” He added, “Democrats have vowed mass invasion and mass migration. We are delivering mass deportation.”
The president’s mention of his administration’s focus on deporting illegal aliens who are “the worst of the worst” comes as border agents working in Michigan continue to arrest repeat offenders and file paperwork for their deportations.
Selfridge Air National Guard Base gets a boost.
Earlier in the day, Trump visited Selfridge Air National Guard Base where he stood with Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and other state officials. He announced plans to station 21 new fighter jets at the site.
“Today I’ve come in person to lay to rest any doubts about Selfridge’s future and the vital role it will play in our national defense,” Trump said to the crowd. “As Commander in Chief, I am proud to announce that very soon we will replace the retiring A-10 Warthogs with 21 brand new F-15EX Eagle II fighter jets – the best in the world – fresh off the line.”
Trump invited Gov. Whitmer to the podium, who admitted she wasn’t prepared to speak. However, she added, “On behalf of all the military men and women who serve our country and serve so honorably, on behalf of the state of Michigan, I am really damn happy we’re here to celebrate this recapitalization at Selfridge. It’s crucial for the Michigan economy.”
Whitmer has faced criticism from some Democrats for working with Trump. She ran Vice President Kamala Harris’ failed presidential campaign in 2024.
Michigan lawmaker: Selfridge is “a cornerstone.”
State Rep. Alicia St. Germaine (R-Harrison Twp.), who represents the area where Selfridge is based, called this mission “long overdue.” She said, “The new fighter mission will help ensure Selfridge remains a cornerstone of our community for years to come. It is good to finally have a President who is helping Michigan make real progress.”
