LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The U.S. Department of Justice announced that 205 child sex predators have been arrested in a nationwide sweep, with 12 of those people being arrested in Michigan.

In addition, Operation Restore Justice led to the rescue of 115 children.

Those arrested include 36-year-old Adarius Carr of Belleville, 53-year-old Aroul Kaliamurthy of Westland,  57-year-old Scott Rocky of Centerline, 26-year-old Amor Pedro Martinez of Ecorse, 38-year-old Whitney Williams, 24-year-old Christian Vanderveen of Comstock Park, Paul Masko of Grand Haven, Terry Hopkins of Muskegon Heights, 29-year-old Martell Scott-Ware of Grand Rapids, 23-year-old Shauntelle Blackmon of Arkadelphia, Ark., Joseph Brandon from Knoxville, Tenn., and George Edward Lebaron from Egelston Township.

The charges range from the production, distribution, and possession of child sexual abuse material, to the online enticement and transportation of minors and child sex trafficking, according to the FBI. Some could face life in prison.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi issued a hard stance on Wednesday, saying “The Department of Justice will never stop fighting to protect victims—especially child victims—and we will not rest until we hunt down, arrest, and prosecute every child predator who preys on the most vulnerable among us,” Bondi said. “I am grateful to the FBI and their state and local partners for their incredible work in Operation Restore Justice and have directed my prosecutors not to negotiate.”
