DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – According to the NFL Network, the Detroit Lions are adding linebacker Zach Cunningham to their roster. Cunningham is a veteran NFL defensive player that is a second-round draft pick in 2017 by the Houston Texans. He has made stops at Tennessee, Philadelphia, and Denver.

Cunningham led the NFL in tackles in 2020 with 164 combined tackles and 106 solo tackles. For three years, no other player had more solo tackles than he did with 278. He played sparingly last season with Denver and recorded 85 tackles in 2023 with Philadelphia across 13 games.

Detroit continues to add to their defense, waiting on Alex Anzalone’s response heading into the final year of his rookie contract. Talks are currently at a stalemate as he wasn’t at the voluntary OTA’s this past week.
