ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – ESPN reports that Michigan will self-impose a suspension on head coach Sherrone Moore for two games in the 2025 season. The games chosen will be against Central Michigan and Nebraska in weeks three and four.
Michigan is now trying to be ahead of what the NCAA may impose in June when they rule on Michigan’s sign-stealing scandal. This dates back to August 2024, when Michigan was notified of 11 violations, six of which were Level 1. Moore is involved with deleting a thread of text messages to Connor Stalions and is accused of Level 2 violations. This would be his second violation in three years at Michigan.

Sports Illustrated confirmed with a source that the Committee on Infractions (COI) will meet in June for a hearing on the Stalions case. The NCAA will not necessarily accept Michigan’s self-imposed punishments.
