MT. CLEMENS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – On June 20, U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Marysville Station, alongside local law enforcement, arrested three Romanian illegal aliens in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, an area about 30 minutes northeast of Detroit.
According to the Detroit Sector Chief Patrol Agent John R. Morris, one of the individuals has confirmed ties to a Transnational Organized Criminal (TOC) outfit – the type of group typically linked to trafficking drugs, humans, weapons, and cyber crimes. That person is now facing a felony charge and deportation. The other two? Also headed out of the country.

Macomb County, known more for its pizza joints and quiet neighborhoods than international criminal syndicates, has now become the scene of what Morris calls a “significant arrest.” The suspects face charges including:
- 8 USC 1326 – Re-entry of removed aliens
- 8 USC 1182 – Alien inadmissibility
- 212A9AI – Alien previously removed
Michigan’s not a sanctuary state.
This isn’t California or New York. In Michigan, the red carpet is not typically rolled out for repeat border jumpers – especially the kind with a rap sheet. With the re-election of President Donald J. Trump, immigration enforcement has stepped up across much of the country and in Michigan. Still, there are liberal strongholds in the state who continue to stick to their sanctuary politics, even when ICE is trying to deport illegal aliens accused of serious crimes.
Democrats continue to pretend there isn’t a problem.
While President Trump has prioritized stepped-up immigration enforcement, especially targeting alien criminals, Democratic leaders have remained largely silent on the broader public safety concerns emerging in both suburban and rural areas.
On social media, critics of ICE operations frequently focus on the detention of individuals such as landscapers or agricultural workers, often without clarifying whether those detained have outstanding criminal warrants. Their main concern appears to be potential labor shortages that could impact the timely harvesting of farmland. Democrats ignore the fact that they may be tied to possible crimes or be affiliated with gangs.
However, as the case in Macomb County demonstrates, the threat of transnational crime isn’t limited to border states or major cities – it’s reaching into everyday American communities. This has been proven true in Oakland County as well, where illegal aliens are finally facing up to charges involving a rash of high-end home invasions.

While political debates continue in Washington over immigration enforcement, ICE and law enforcement officers on the ground are left to deal with the real consequences. Whether it’s drug trafficking, cyber crimes, human smuggling or worse, ignoring illegal immigration’s darker side doesn’t make it disappear.
