EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Transferring to his dream school, East Lansing’s Evan Boyd will be wearing green and white in the fall. The wide receiver entered the transfer portal in December after two years at Central Michigan University and the retirement of head coach Jim McElwain.

“I’ve been a Spartan fan all my life. It’s always been the goal,” said Boyd.

Last year, Boyd had 21 catches for 302 yards and two touchdowns in eight games played for CMU. He missed the final four games of the season due to an injury and will have three seasons left of eligibility.

Boyd was a part of the 2025 spring events at MSU after transferring in January, getting a full offseason and 15 practices.

A three-year letter winner at East Lansing High School, he was an MHSFCA All-State first-team selection and on the MHSFCA Dream Team as a senior in 2022. In that season, he had 61 catches for a school-record 994 yards receiving and also made the Lansing State Journal and Detroit Free Press Dream Team.
