WASHINGTON, D.C. (Michigan News Source) – President Donald J. Trump dropped a profanity recently while addressing the Iran-Israel situation – and quicker than you can say “selective outrage,” Democrats and the mainstream media erupted in overblown indignation like they’d never heard a cuss word before.

While talking to reporters on the White House lawn on Tuesday, June 24 about the fragile ceasefire between Iran and Israel, Trump said, “We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f*** they’re doing.”

Democrats on social media, who have been flinging f-bombs and other swear words towards President Trump and Elon Musk for months, have suddenly transformed into fragile porcelain dolls at a Victorian tea party – with fake gasps the moment Trump said a naughty word.

For some reason, however, when Democrats swear, it’s perfectly fine. In early March, a wave of profanity echoed through Democratic ranks following President Trump’s joint address to Congress. Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) famously quipped, “Somebody slap me and wake me the f*** up,” and earlier told Elon Musk to “f*** off.”

Democrats drop the filter – and it’s okay.

DNC Chair Ken Martin took a more measured tone with “Go to hell,” while Senate Democrats launched social media videos fact-checking Trump’s statements as “s**t that ain’t true.”

Senators John Fetterman, Ruben Gallego, and Brian Schatz also sprinkled their criticisms with sharp language. This surge of raw, unfiltered rhetoric reflects a purposeful and broader effort by Democrats to channel voter frustration and project authenticity amid a crudely charged political climate ever since Donald Trump got re-elected.

Politico ran a piece in March titled “Frustrated Dems Unleash the F-Bombs” and practically treated the swearing by the Democrats as a badge of honor, explaining it to be a social media strategy. Caitlin Legacki, a Democratic campaign veteran, even gave advice, saying that if the Democrats are going to swear, they need to make sure to be authentic.

Trump is not alone.

NPR took the time to write a full piece dissecting Trump’s use of a swear word in their article about him breaking a presidential norm – which he hasn’t. They erroneously said, “American presidents have typically refrained from using it publicly, even when angry or frustrated.” Guess they don’t know about what Obama and Biden were up to during their presidencies.

Former President Biden called Fox News reporter Peter Doocy a “stupid son of a b****h” during a January 2022 briefing which was picked up on a hot mic.

Former President Obama called rapper Kanye West a “jacka** after the singer interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards and called his Republican presidential opponent Mitt Romney a “bullsh***er” in a Rolling Stone interview.

Yet somehow Trump swearing about a very real threat to Israel and America – and his frustration with both sides not taking the ceasefire as seriously as they should – is some kind of “embarrassment” to the nation? Give me a break.

Whitmer’s mouth makes a trucker blush – but that’s “leadership.”

And since the media landscape is talking about cursing, let’s talk about Michigan’s own Democratic Governor Gretchen “Fight Like Hell” Whitmer, whose speeches and X accounts over the years have been decorated with curse words.

As we’ve pointed out time and time again, swearing seems to be seamlessly woven into Governor Whitmer’s everyday vernacular. She’s cursed on social media, dropped swear words during her State of the State address, let it fly while stumping for Kamala Harris – and even back when she first ran for governor, profanity was part of the pitch with her infamous pledge to “fix the damn roads.”

And more recently, at the end of May in a keynote address at the Mackinac Policy Conference, Whitmer referred to President Trump’s announcement of a new fighter mission at Selfridge Air National Guard Base by saying, “This move protects 30,000 jobs, 5,000 military families, and $850 million of statewide commerce. For Michigan, this is a B-F-D.” I don’t think the “F” in that acronym stood for “fantastic.”

Selective outrage as Dems curse up a storm.

However, neither the Michigan nor national media has expressed much outrage (if any) over Governor Whitmer’s constant use of profanity – then or now. Yet because of President Trump use of the F-bomb, Democrats are suddenly in a rush to call him unpresidential. When Democrats curse, it’s framed as “righteous indignation.” When Trump does it, it’s a crisis and a national disgrace.

And yet, just yesterday, Democrats were busy hosting their own profanity parade, as you’ll see below.

No doubt, there’s even more swearing that takes place behind the scenes by politicians that we don’t even know about. Some of it we have found out later like Former President Lyndon B. Johnson, who, in a conversation with his Special Assistant for National Security Affairs, swore seven times while talking about Vietnam.

This isn’t about language, it’s about Trump. It’s always about Trump.

When you strip away the outrage theater, the left isn’t really upset that Trump swore – they’re just out of material. With no message of their own, their platform boils down to little more than hating Trump and nitpicking everything he says and does.

Trump’s profanity wasn’t a scandal – it was a clear, unvarnished warning to Iran (and Israel) to get their s**t together.
