DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – Steve Yzerman may be making moves ahead of the 2025 NHL Draft, which is this weekend in Los Angeles. Before heading out West, reports indicate that Yzerman has inquired about New York Islanders defenseman Noah Dobson, who is a restricted free agent.

Detroit Hockey Now reporter Bob Duff has reported that Detroit may offer forwards J.T. Compher and Jonatan Berggren, along with draft picks, for Dobson. If true, Detroit could add a defenseman who has a 70-point season. The free agent is seeking a $11 million annual contract.
