TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The 42-year-old man charged with stabbing 11 people at a Traverse City Walmart store over the weekend returned to a courtroom on Wednesday and received an increase to his previously set bond.
Bradford Gille’s appearance comes two days after Judge Tammi Rodgers set his bond at $100,000 cash surety. Judge Michael Stepka made the change to $1 million after Gille made a finger gun hand gesture during the first hearing.

Grand Traverse County Prosecutor Noelle Moeggenberg also reported that if Gille is released on bond he must wear a GPS tether and have a no contact order for the victims and their families.
“I think the victims need to be assured that he’s not gonna get out of jail,” Judge Stepka said. “The public needs to be assured too that he’s not gonna be in the community and putting them in fear of another such event that happened last Saturday at Walmart,” he said.
During the hearing, Gille’s video feed from the jail was reportedly interrupted. The Grand Traverse County Sheriff’s Office said Gille damaged the camera that broadcasts video feeds into the courtroom. In addition, the court ordered for a competency evaluation for Gille.
Meanwhile, Munson Medical Center reported that six of the 11 patients stabbed on Saturday are in good condition. Three patients were treated and released, while two were treated and transferred.
