LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) — A summer seltzer pack is being pulled from shelves after a labeling error swapped out a caffeinated energy drink for alcohol.
High Noon announced a voluntary recall of two production lots of its Beach Variety Pack after discovering that some cans were “mislabeled as CELSIUS® ASTRO VIBE™ Energy Drink, Sparkling Blue Razz Edition with a silver top,” but actually “filled with High Noon vodka seltzer alcohol,” according to a company statement posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

“Consumption of the liquid in these cans will result in unintentional alcohol ingestion,” the company warned on July 30.
The affected products were shipped between July 21 and July 23 to distributors in Florida, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
The company traced the problem back to a shared packaging supplier, which mistakenly sent empty CELSIUS-branded cans to High Noon’s production line. No injuries or adverse reactions have been reported.
High Noon is urging consumers to check cans carefully, especially if their CELSIUS Astro Vibe can has a silver lid instead of the usual black.
