ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore spoke at the Big Ten Media Days in Las Vegas on Thursday, expressing his program’s positive outlook. He focused on what the team can control despite the ongoing NCAA controversy.

Interest in the quarterback position became a strong topic as Moore talked about the growth of freshman quarterback Bryce Underwood. He praised Underwood’s growth since being on campus since December, mentioning his work ethic and dedication. He also said the quarterback position is a “real battle”, too, with the other quarterbacks in camp.

He also said, “It’s not just about the quarterback room. It’s every room. We’re a team. There’s not one person that wins or loses a game. It’s a team. We have done a really good job of being a cohesive unit – being ‘team over me’ and gaining trust with each other and being arm-in-arm in this battle.”

Moore added a new offensive coordinator, Chip Lindsey, commenting, “It is valuable having a coach like Chip Lindsey, who has been a head coach before. Lindsey also coaches the quarterbacks and was the head coach at Troy University from 2019 to 2021.

One final topic addressed was the rivalry with Ohio State. Moore said that his team will change its post-game celebration to focus on sportsmanship and camaraderie. He also praised OSU’s Jeremiah Smith, saying, “He’s one of the best players in college football.”
