ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – In January, the city of Ann Arbor’s parking enforcement division issued just one ticket for a violation of the city’s bike lane ordinance.
Recently, the City Council instructed police to better enforce the ordinance that prevents parking, driving or putting obstacles in bike lanes.

Ann Arbor started patrols of the bike lanes on March 26. In April, the city issued 13 parking citations involving bike lanes.
From April to June, there were 109 vehicles that were moved out of bike lanes and a total of 24 parking citations issued involving bike lane violations. The city also hands out about 15 pamphlets per month to educate its residents on the biking law.
