LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) — Life after lockup could come with a little less guesswork for inmates in Livingston County, thanks to a new crash course in computer skills.
The sheriff’s office has teamed with Copperhead Defense Technologies to roll out the North Star Digital Literacy Course — a two-week program covering the ABCs of the online world, from email basics to browsing the internet with ease.

The class runs on company-provided computers, and there’s a perk for those who finish and pass: a free laptop on release day.
The hope, Sheriff Mike Murphy told WILX News 10, is that a little digital know-how now will mean a better shot at stability later.
