MONTCALM COUNTY, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas – at least for one West-Central Michigan farm that just unwrapped the ultimate holiday honor: supplying this year’s official White House Christmas Tree.

Korson’s Tree Farms, located in the community of Sidney Township in Montcalm County, Michigan, has been chosen to supply the 2025 White House Christmas tree for the Blue Room. As grand champions of the National Christmas Tree Association’s recent contest, they were chosen to deliver a tree to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue this year. According to their website, the farm grows 12 different species of evergreens on more than 1,000 acres of trees being grown.

On social media, the company, which is a second-generation evergreen farm, posted, “A huge thank you to our team for helping us with this achievement. We cannot thank everyone on the farm enough!”

Spreading Michigan cheer.

This win marks the third time that a Michigan tree is being sent to the nation’s capital, where it will take its place as the crown jewel of the White House’s holiday décor.

The tree will be the centerpiece of the Blue Room’s decorations – one of the most photographed spots during the holidays, visited by thousands and seen by millions.

Last year’s tree symbolized strength after a storm.

Last year’s White House Christmas tree was a Fraser Fir that came from Newland, North Carolina, an area impacted by Hurricane Helene. The tree, named “Tremendous” for its symbol of resilience, came from Cartner’s Christmas Tree Farm, who had lost about 5,500 Christmas trees from landslides.

The tree was placed in the Blue Room and decorated to reflect the 2024 holiday theme, “A Season of Peace and Light.” It was styled as a whimsical, moving carousel, adorned with colorful lights and candy- shaped ornaments. A carousel at the base featured the names of every state, territory, and the District of Columbia.

No official Christmas theme for the 2025 White House holiday season has been announced yet. Typically, the First Lady unveils the new year’s holiday theme in November or early December.

As the nation awaits this year’s White House holiday theme, all eyes will soon turn to Washington, D.C., where a Michigan-grown evergreen will stand tall as a symbol of tradition, family pride, and holiday cheer. For Korson’s Tree Farms – and for the state – it’s not just about sending a tree, but about sharing a piece of Michigan magic with the entire country.
