LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Violence against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) escalated this week in Texas when a man shot at an ICE facility.
The shooter’s motivation.

Noem said in a statement the “shooting must serve as a wake-up call to the far-left that their rhetoric about ICE has consequences.”
The assassination of Charlie Kirk this month and the Texas ICE shooting have raised concerns about the safety of ICE agents, who are being targeted for enforcing President Donald Trump’s immigration policy.
AG Nessel wants agents unmasked.
In Michigan, Attorney General Dana Nessel announced in July she was leading a movement to get legislation passed that would prohibit federal immigration agents from wearing masks to conceal their identity and requiring them to show their identification.
The letter addresses the concern by ICE that their agents would be targets of violence if identified.
“While measures to protect the identity of federal agents may be necessary in limited circumstances, the commonplace use of masks and the failure of ICE to identify themselves as law enforcement makes everyone less safe and weakens the integrity of our justice system,” the letter stated.
The letter goes on to state that in the “limited circumstances” where identifying ICE agents would put them at risk, it can be “resolved through targeted means.” But the letter doesn’t expand on how that could be done.
