LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Protestors made their way inside the Capitol on Thursday and staged a “die-in” after Michigan hospitals shifted away from providing hormones and sex change operations for minors.
According to a press release from Indy Next Gen in Muskegon, “…thousands of trans kids have been cut off from the care that keeps them alive.” The statement continued and said if youth aren’t allowed to permanently alter their bodies with sex change surgeries that “suicide rates skyrocket, families are shattered, and entire communities grieve children who should still be here.”

The either/or fallacy presented by the trans lobby has received pushback over recent years. It has argued: “Would you rather have a dead son or a living daughter?” It implies the refusal to allow a minor a sex change operation automatically triggers suicide.
On one hand, the liberal-leaning Trevor Project said a 2020 study found that gender-confused youth are more than two times as likely to experience depression and consider suicide compared to normal peers.
However, a report published by “Sex Matters” concluded “Gender-distressed teenagers referred for mental-health assessment have a higher rate of suicidality than others. But adjusted for risk factors, youth referred with gender issues are not at higher risk of dying by suicide than others seeking mental-health support.”
In that same report, Professor Louis Appleby with the National Suicide Prevention Strategy Advisory Group pushed back against the “living daughter, dead son” narrative pushed by the trans lobby. “We need to see an end to that line about choosing a living daughter or dead son. It is not based on evidence. May add to distress in young
people and mislead worried parents.”
