LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Former gubernatorial candidate Ralph Rebandt is throwing his hat in the ring for the state’s top job again.
The Republican previously ran for governor in 2022 but lost in a crowded primary.

Rebandt said he wants to “build the strongest economy in the country, return to common sense policies, and create a state-backed crypto currency project.”
The current chaplain for the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police joins a growing field of GOP candidates. Those include Senate Minority Leader Aric Nesbitt, former Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox, U.S. Rep. John James, Anthony Hudson, and Evan Space.
Democrats who are running are Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson, and Marni Sawicki. Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan, a former Democrat, is running as an independent.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer cannot run again due to term limits.
