ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A University of Michigan assistant professor who teaches subjects related to “race and racism” and “systems of oppression” is the latest in a string of educators posting about the assassination of Charlie Kirk and their alleged defending of it.

Charles H.F. Davis III, who limits who can see his posts on X, posted “Even if you believe violence isn’t the answer, it is a solution, especially to the violent conditions and violent rhetoric spewed by empowered people that create them.” The screenshot of Davis’ post has been captured and reported by several news outlets.

In addition, it is reported that Davis reposted, “Charlie Kirk is a reminder of two things: your words don’t skip consequences, they just collect interest. And lastly, empathy has boundaries. Good luck.” The assistant professor at the Marsal Family School of Education reportedly reposted several other similar tweets, including “Among several others, Davis also reposted about Kirk, “He spent his entire life disparaging immigrants, disrespecting women, and blaming black folks, only to get shot in one of the whitest places on earth.”

According to the university’s website, Davis teaches “Anti-Racism” and “Power, Privilege, and the Politics of Difference in Higher Education.” Both are listed as graduate level courses.
