JACKSON, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Jackson’s mayor will not be running for reelection, or any other political office.
Jackson Mayor Daniel Mahoney announced during this week’s City Council meeting that he will not seek reelection when his term ends in Dec. 2026. Mahoney said he is choosing to put his family first.

Voters elected Mahoney in 2021 and reelected him in 2023.
In addition, Maloney served as the County Commissioner for District 7 from 2014 to 2021.
