TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Traverse City is ready for its close-up as a new film festival makes its debut.

The Fresh Coast Film Festival launched in 2016 and has been a staple in Marquette since then. It will make a trip south and debut in Traverse City on April 30, 2026. It will run through May 3, 2026.

Organizers say the Traverse City event will honor the spirit of the Upper Peninsula as well as spotlight local filmmakers and a narrative films.

Filmgoers can expect a lineup of short and feature-length films focusing on outdoor adventures, conservationism, and advocacy, with guest artists attending for audience Q&As.

Venues include the City Opera House, The Alluvion, and several local breweries and community centers.

The fun won’t end in Traverse City. Organizers hope to replicate this experience in other parts of Michigan and allow festival-goers to walk, paddle, or bike between venues.
