LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) cracked down on eight more illegal online casinos this week, issuing cease-and-desist letters to the companies.

The casinos illegally offered internet gaming to Michigan residents.

In order to operate an online casino, a company must have both a casino license and an internet gaming license, according to the Lawful Internet Gaming Act, which the companies did not have.

“These unauthorized websites often appear sophisticated and legitimate, but they operate outside of Michigan law,” said Henry Williams, MGCB Executive Director. “When players gamble on unlicensed platforms, they’re putting their money and personal information at serious risk. The MGCB will not hesitate to intervene when we find operators ignoring our state’s gambling laws.”

The letters were sent to Aussie Play, CryptoGames, FortuneJack, Hugewin Casino, My Stake Casino, Play at Harry’s Casino, RuneChat, and Slots Garden.

As of Oct. 28, only Play at Harry’s Casino, RuneChat, and Slots Garden still have accessible websites.

Currently, the MGCB has issued 170 cease-and-desist letters to illegal internet casinos.
