DEARBORN, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Dearborn Police said they arrested three people during the Nov. 18 march in their city that featured a Jan. 6 protester who attempted to burn a Quran twice.
Jake Lang, a Jan. 6 protester who served time in prison and received a pardon from President Donald Trump, told Michigan News Source he was assaulted twice while he tried to burn the Quran. He says he was also hit in the face by something thrown at him during the rally that left a mark on his face.

The march was promoted by Christians, including Republican gubernatorial candidate Anthony Hudson, as a response to a series of controversies in the city. Dearborn Mayor Abdullah Hammoud told a Christian Dearborn resident he was not welcome in the city in September; some residents have complained about the city’s call to prayer that goes off five times a day as early as 5:30 a.m. In addition, FBI arrested five Dearborn people in connection in an alleged terrorism attack planned for somewhere in the Midwest on Halloween.
Hudson said the Dearborn police did a “phenomenal” job protecting him during the march.
He criticized Lang and others who came to the march to incite the crowd, saying he wanted Lang to be charged with trying to incite a riot.
“I think all the agitators who came from out of state to start trouble, that’s all part of inciting a riot,” Hudson said. “These guys, they live their life one viral clip at a time. … If you go somewhere and instigate violence and somebody hits you, that’s your own damn fault. How is it I was out there, nobody attacked me, nobody punched me? He [Lang] is nothing more than a terrorist who came to town. Now Michiganians have to clean up his mess.”

Cam Higby, an online personality with 222k followers on X, live streamed his march with Lang. He said he was pepper sprayed by a man during the march and police on scene didn’t move to arrest his attacker.
Social media videos showed an agitated man who had to be restrained by police after stopping his truck and confronting the Christian marchers. That man later parked his truck and exited and tried to confront the marchers again, but police intervened.
Dearborn police only stated that the three people arrested were “from different groups after observing disorderly behavior throughout the evening.” The police didn’t respond to an email seeking additional information on those arrested.
