Ali had an Instagram account with a lecture from Anwar Al Awlaki on it.
Al-Awlaki was an American Islamic preacher and al-Qaeda terrorist, according to U.S. Justice Department. He was killed in a drone strike ordered by President Barack Obama after being linked to several terrorism plots in the U.S. and United Kingdom. The U.S. Justice Department linked Al-Awlaki to a December 2009 attempt to blow up a jet bound for Detroit.
The unnamed juvenile identified in the complaint as “Person 1” posted a video to his Instagram account of a “goodbye message” from an Al-Qaeda suicide bomber prior to bomber blowing himself up.
The FBI believes that after Instagram shut down Person 1’s account, he created other Instagram accounts. Officials allege another Instagram account belonging to Person 1 posted the same video of the suicide bomber. In addition, the FBI said that one of his Instagram accounts was created after previous ones had been shut down by the social media company included videos of Osama Bin Laden and Awlaki.
