DEARBORN, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Jake Lang, a Jan. 6 protester pardoned by Donald Trump, posted a video on X saying “we will burn the Koran” at a Nov. 18 rally in Dearborn that’s been organized to highlight Christianity. The promoter of the rally said Lang was not welcome and was trying to hijack the rally.

Sabotaging a peaceful walk.

Anthony Hudson, a Republican gubernatorial candidate in Michigan, has heavily promoted the Dearborn rally on social media. Hudson said the goal of the rally was to promote Christianity in Dearborn and has stressed that the rally was to be a peaceful demonstration.

“He is trying to sabotage my peaceful walk in Dearborn. He is a provocateur,” Hudson told Michigan News Source. “He’s known for going around and instigating things like this.”

Hudson said he doesn’t want Hudson to be at the rally but said he has a constitutional right to attend. Hudson said he has no affiliation with Lang and never met him.

“I will not ever condone that type of behavior,” Hudson said. “I think he is just coming up here to instigate a riot if he can get away with it.”

Lang was sent to prison for his participation in the Jan. 6 riots in 2021 and Trump pardoned him. He posted a video on X on Nov. 12 of what appeared to be him burning a Quran.

“November 18th -BRAVE CHRISTIANS are MARCHING on Dearborn Michigan!!! 😲THOUSANDS of PATRIOTS will peacefully gather 3pm!!!
📍 Schaefer Rd and Michigan Ave & MARCH ON ISLAMIC DEARBORN CITY HALL!!! 😳 We will BURN THE KORAN 🔥& declare AMERICA IS CHRISTIAN! ✝️” Lang’s post read.

Running for office.

Lang is running for a U.S. senate office in Florida and posted Nov. 14 on Facebook that his very first act as senator would be to “ban Islam.”

He also filed a federal lawsuit against New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani alleging that Mamdani’s tax plan that would target “richer and whiter neighborhoods” violates the U.S. Constitution’s 14th Amendment according to the New York Post.

Lang didn’t respond to attempts to contact them.

In 2011, Florida Pastor Terry Jones sparked an angry mob at a Dearborn rally when protesters overran a barricade and threw bottles and shoes at Jones, who has a history of threatening to burn the Quran.
