WASHINGTON, D.C. (Michigan News Source) – The FBI’s counter terrorism division is launching an investigation into U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin (D) and five other Democratic lawmakers over their video where they told military members to “refuse illegal orders.”

Michigan’s junior senator, who worked as a Central Intelligence Agency officer in Iraq, spoke at a press conference in Inkster on Tuesday and attempted to clear things up. Slotkin claimed that military personnel came to her and asked about their orders, and that’s what prompted the video.

In addition, Senator Slotkin claimed that President Trump is weaponizing the federal government “against those he disagrees with.” President Trump has called their actions “seditious conspiracy” and cited the Constitutional punishments for such actions.

Democrats keep doubling down. Slotkin and the other lawmakers of the Senate Armed Services Committee sent a letter to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and U.S. Department of War Secretary Pete Hegseth on Monday. They asked for the “declassification and public release” of documents related to recent strikes against drug cartel boats in the Caribbean and near South America.

Although none of the lawmakers gave specifics in the video or subsequent interviews about what “illegal orders” sparked their diatribe, Slotkin’s remarks at the press conference referenced President Trump sending National Guard troops into American cities like Chicago as one of the reasons. In addition, Slotkin referred to “strikes in the Caribbean against drug cartels” as another catalyst for the video.

In addition, the Pentagon is investigating U.S. Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Arizona). It’s been suggested that Hegseth is considering calling the former Navy pilot back to active duty and undergo a court-martial.
